Operation Pacific Waves: Q&A With A2G/International

A2G/International (A2G) & Iridium® discuss the capabilities A2G showcased during Operation Pacific Waves.

What attracted you to participate in Operation Pacific Waves?

A2G/International has built a strong reputation that is unmatched in the Airborne Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) industry. We wanted to participate in Operation Pacific Waves (OPW) to show our capabilities for the Pacific Commands and showcase our service alongside other industry partners.

Can you tell us more about the products you demonstrated on this expedition? How does your technology work, and what communications threads were you most eager to experience?

A2G streams Full Motion Video (FMV) from our Cessna 337 Multi-Sensor ISR aircraft over the Iridium network. We are also the first to market for streaming Beyond Line-of-Sight (BLOS) from an MX-15 Sensor utilizing narrowband.

As part of Operation Pacific Waves, A2G/International showcased its BLOS FMV capabilities during a night flight over Cape Town, South Africa, on board one of the company’s multi-sensor ISR Cessna 337 Skymasters. This footage was shared globally in real time via the AnsuR ASMIRA application.

What would you like readers to know about OPW and your product(s) specifically? Are there any features or unique capabilities that standout in the Indo-Pacific region?

OPW highlights the truly global reach of the Iridium network. A2G’s service showcases the future of Beyond Line-of-Sight Full Motion Video and full communications for smaller, more cost-efficient platforms. Customers will now spend 1/5th of the cost for the same Airborne Multi-Sensor capabilities when utilizing the Iridium network.
